Ponies Lose to Lakers, 6-0
|
Jeremy Dean never let Kingston get something going. The Echo Park left-hander commanded his sinker in pitching the Lakers to a 6-0 win. Dean, now 1-3, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing no runs. Echo Park is now 44-35.
Palmer Kent had a big 3-run home run for the Lakers in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Echo Park leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from Edward Small, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2053 draft, and swatted a home run to right. It was his 7th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Lakers ahead, 4-0.
"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Kent. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
