Lighthouse Topple Coeur, 4-2, as Hoban Shines
The BFIB was the site of a competitive game between the St. Louis Coeur and Long Island Lighthouse.

The Long Island Lighthouse beat the St. Louis Coeur, 4-2, at The BFIB. Duke Hoban went 3 for 3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The 25-year old right fielder was a menace to St. Louis all day. Jeff Tate got the win, improving to 13-4. He held the Coeur to 2 runs on 5 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 3. The save went to Bob Flannery, his 11th this season.

Hoban had a big at-bat with the bases empty in the top of the fourth inning, when he hit a triple. The Lighthouse went on to win.

"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Hoban told the Long Island Daily. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."

The Third League-leading Lighthouse have a record of 57-27.
