Vega Hits 2 home runs in Oaks Win
The Oakland Oaks stormed past the Detroit Rock City, 14-5, at The Oak Grove. Oakland right fielderRaúl Vega , who is tied for 6th in the 3L in extra base hits with 41, led the hit parade. He slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 7. Oakland starter Craig Smith was credited with the win after throwing 97 pitches over 7.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-2. Detroit now owns a losing streak of 6 games.

Vega contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Oakland in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 2-0, Vega took a fastball from Steve Kidd and stroked the home run to left-center. His 21st home run of the season allowed the Oaks to leap in front, 4-2.

"We're in a little bit of a dry spell," said Detroit manager Kyle Salow.
