|
The Cape Coral Hurricanes wiggled past the Detroit Rock City, 4-3, in 10 innings at Detroit Stadium. The win was highlighted by the performance of Cape Coral pitcher Andre Graham. Mark Smith notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record now sits at 7-2. With the victory, the Hurricanes record stands at 43-53.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Jesús Casquete? The 24-year old third baseman Casquete stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put Cape Coral up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"We had a chance to win," said Detroit manager Kyle Salow, "but we didn't get it done."
