Ponies Earn Late Win
The Kingston Ponies clipped the Charleston Battery, 2-1, in 10 innings at Megaffin Park. The standout performance belonged to Kingston pitcher and Toledo, Ohio, native Jim Smith. Kingston reliever Fred Hull snagged the win, upping his record to 3-4. Javier Camacho shouldered the loss. The Ponies, at 44-52, sit in 9th place in the Third League.

The game-ending blow was delivered by Howard Brown in the bottom of the tenth. That's when he hit a run-scoring double off 27-year old right-handed pitcher Javier Camacho to win it for Kingston and cause the home crowd to erupt in celebration.

"This place was electric at the end," Brown said.
