Shredders Win Thriller, 8-5
The Hollywood Shredders withstood an impressive performance by Northern Virginia first baseman José Mondragon to defeat the Rainbow Mermaids, 8-5, at The Hollywood Bowl. Mondragon slugged 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Hollywood is now 22-47, Northern Virginia 33-36.

The game came to a dramatic end in the bottom of the ninth. With Hollywood trailing 5-4, Joe Saunders hit a fastball from Quinton Barnard for a grand slam home run. It was the knockout punch the Shredders needed.

"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Saunders said.
