Long Island Gets 5-4 Win
|
Steve Green did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Echo Park Lakers from being beaten, 5-4, to the Long Island Lighthouse at LA Forum. Green went 3 for 3 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI. Aarre Rissanen was the winner. Over 6 innings, he yielded 4 runs on 9 hits, with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts. With the win, Long Island upped its record to 56-51.
Mike McKinney, who is tied for 7th in the 3L in bases on balls with 63, chipped in a solo home run for Long Island in the top of the seventh. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 1 run batted in.
