Blues Earn 5-0 Home Win
|
Barton Springs designated hitter António Gómez made his presence felt in the 5-0 Blues triumph over the Pine Island Dolphins. Gómez went 1-2 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Barton Springs reliever Sean Reed picked up the win to move to 1-1. Jorge Ortíz suffered the loss. Ed Taylor closed out the game, earning his 2nd save.
Early in the game, Gómez had a 2-run home run for Barton Springs. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Blues on top, 2-0.
Gómez expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
Pine Island falls to 7-9.
