Fur Traders Stop Farmers, 6-0
|
Right-hander Christian Jones mesmerized the Lancaster Farmers while leading the Tacoma Fur Traders to a 6-0 victory. Jones, now 2-3, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 2, walking 1, and allowing no runs. The Fur Traders improved their record to 14-12 with the win over Lancaster.
The Fur Traders got an important contribution from center fielder Huynh Phan, who in the bottom of the sixth hit a 2-1 fastball to left-center for a run-scoring double. It was his 6th double of the season and put the Fur Traders ahead, 2-0.
"All in all, I thought Christian pitched a fine game for us tonight," said Tacoma manager Jeff Rutherford.
