Rails Send Minnesota Home with 3-2 Loss
The Richland Rails eked out a 3-2 win versus the Minnesota Loons at Rails Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher William Hinkle. He was terrific. In 5.1 innings, Hinkle surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Richland, at 17-10, holds down third place in the Menard's AA.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Rails had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when catcher Buddy MacNeill hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Luis Ruíz and made the score 3-0, Rails. MacNeill went 2 for 3 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.

"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Minnesota manager Calvin Beck said, following the tough loss.
