Chesapeake Beaten, 5-2, by Tacoma
|
The Tacoma Fur Traders reigned over the Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas in damp conditions.
The Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Jesús Soto into a win. Instead, the Tacoma Fur Traders prevailed, 5-2. Soto threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. Picking up the save was 23-year old right-handed pitcher Henry Coffey.
Tacoma grabbed control in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Jack Grimes delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 3-2, in favor of the Fur Traders.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Grimes.
Tacoma now has a record of 15-12 with the win.
