Rails Lose to Fur Traders in Walk-Off
|
The Tacoma Fur Traders picked up a win at Ballpark of Tacoma, downing the Richland Rails, 4-2. On the mound for Tacoma was right-hander Kent Nelson, who played a pivotal role in the win. The winner was Tacoma reliever Luis Colón, now 1-1. The loser was Ben Vincent. The victory makes Tacoma 9-21.
The game reached a climactic end in the bottom of the ninth. With Tacoma trailing 2-1, Terry Brown delivered the decisive blow, stroking a cutter from Ben Vincent for a 3-run home run. Ballgame.
"Kent's not intimidated by who's stepping into the batter's box," said Tacoma manager Jeff Rutherford.
