The Casper Ghosts got a superb performance from pitcher Phil Drew. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Richland. The Rails won the game, 2-1. Drew threw 6.2 innings of shutout ball. John McCall earned the save, his 1st, for the Rails. Richland is now 22-13. Casper is 18-17.

Alexander Hawkins went 1 for 3 for Richland. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, Hawkins, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2058 draft, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Casper hurler Wesley Edwards, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Rails a 2-1 lead.

"We had the right guys up at the right times," said Casper manager Jerry Duke. "We just didn't cash in."
