The Virginia Beach Whales got a stellar performance from pitcher Desi Riley, who handcuffed the Tacoma offense en route to a win, 3-2, at Virginia Beach Grounds. The winning pitcher was Riley, now 1-2. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 5. Andy Lewis wrapped it up, recording his 6th save.

I-tsing Yang helped his team take an early lead with a 2-run single. It came in the first inning, making the score 2-0, Whales.

"I liked his command," said Virginia Beach manager Wilson López. "Desi was throwing strikes."

Virginia Beach now sits at 17-21, while Tacoma falls to 22-16.
