Pilgrims Improve to 23-20 with 4-2 Win
|
Starting pitcher Ed Hussey was a major factor in the 4-2 Providence Pilgrims triumph over the Richland Rails. Providence now has a record of 23-20 with the win.
Providence needed the clutch hitting of Jonas van Claveren, Jr. to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Pilgrims on top, 4-0. For the game, van Claveren, Jr. had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said van Claveren, Jr..
