Fur Traders Handle Dolphins, Grab 8-5 Win
|
The Tacoma Fur Traders withstood a fine game by Pine Island first baseman Norm Peterson at Ballpark of Tacoma, to upend the Dolphins, 8-5. Peterson hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Earning his 5th save for Tacoma was Joe Burkett. The 10th-place Dolphins have lost 4 consecutive games.
With no one out in the bottom of the first, Huynh Phan put Tacoma in front, 2-1, with a run-scoring single. The Fur Traders went on to win the ballgame.
"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Phan.
