Rocketeers Beat Rainbow Mermaids, 7-1, Behind Hawkins
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids had to reckon with Seattle Rocketeers hurler Bruce Hawkins. Hawkins, who finished 5th in the PL in wins with 9 in 2059, overwhelmed the opposition in the 7-1 Rocketeers triumph. With the win, Seattle improves its record to 4-4.

Hawkins, the winner, is now 1-0. In 8.1 innings of work, he gave up 1 run on 3 hits, while collecting 5 Ks. He essentially shut down the Northern Virginia offense.

"Bruce is a gamer," said Seattle manager Andrew Powell.
