The Toledo Stingers beat the New Orleans Voodoo, 8-7, in part because of catcher Earl McKinney. He was 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Sam Myers finished the game for Toledo and earned his 3rd save. Toledo goes to 6-2.

Toledo used a clutch hit from Willie Griffin to snatch the win. The right fielder belted a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Stingers ahead, 8-7. It was his only hit, but it was huge.

"We ground out the win," said Griffin. "That's all that matters."
