The Tacoma Fur Traders withstood a fine game by Asheville right fielder Claude Prigent at Asheville Park, to upend the Highlanders, 7-5. Prigent was 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. With the win, the Fur Traders have a record of 29-28.

In the top of the eighth, Terry Brown, who is tied for 9th in the 3AA in stolen bases with 7, delivered for Tacoma. That's when he belted a 3-run home run, putting the Fur Traders up, 6-5. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a climactic one.
