Hops Rally For 4-1 Win
|
Alejandro Cordero pitched a gem to lead Yakima to victory over the Tacoma Fur Traders, 4-1. In 8 innings, Cordero surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. With the win, Yakima has a record of 37-22. Tacoma falls to 30-29.
Yakima took a 2-1 lead on Peyton Nelson's 12th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Nelson hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Tacoma pitcher Pablo De Los Santos visibly frustrated.
"Alejandro was able to locate to both sides, up and down," said Yakima manager Juan Valéncia.
