The Richland Rails downed the Ottawa Fat Cats, 14-6, at Nationals Park. The Rails were led by Warren Sharp. Sharp was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 5. Richland pitcher Kent Coleman got the win, upping his record to 2-1. Bob O'Reilly got the loss. Richland's record now stands at 42-21, placing them first in the Menard's AA.

A critical at-bat came in the top of the seventh inning when the Rails sent 22-year-old third baseman Jacob Pugh to the plate with the bases loaded. The youngster shook off the pressure and hit a 2-run single, to put Richland on top, 9-6.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Rails manager Ludovic Fontaine. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
