The Pine Island Dolphins beat the Richland Rails, 7-3, at Goodyear Hanger Dome. Pine Island catcher Gus Polinski had the hot bat. He was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Juan Sánchez was the winner. He's now 5-1. The loser was 23-year old left-handed pitcher Bo George. The victory gives Pine Island a record of 37-35.
Polinski had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 2-1 sinker from Allan Lawrence, he banged a grand slam home run to left-center, giving the Dolphins a 5-2 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Polinski.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Polinski.
