Polar Bears Fall Short, 7-6, at Richland
|
Billings left fielder Héctor Yan was sensational. He was 3 for 5 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Richland beat the Polar Bears, 7-6. The win belonged to Aaron Covington in relief. His record improves to 9-2. John Paddock took the loss for Billings. Earning his 25th save of the year was Kent Coleman.
Had Stan Bynings not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Bynings hit a 2-run single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Rails.
"I like our moxie," said Rails manager Todd Hines.
Billings has now lost 4 straight.
