Richland Gets 8-2 Win
|
Richland pitcher Stan Carter did his part in helping his team defeat the Ottawa Fat Cats, 8-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Carter, the winner, moves to 5-5. He threw 8.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 1 and giving up 3 walks. The win elevated the Rails to 55-42.
In the top of the sixth, Dustin Ackerman delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and a runner on 2nd, the Richland catcher hit a run-scoring single, putting the Rails in front, 8-2.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Ackerman.
