Sixshooters Nip Rails, 4-3
|
The Westwood Sixshooters faced a tenacious opponent in Richland pitcher Morris Faulkner, but still scratched out a win at Sixshooters Stadium by a final score of 4-3 in 10 innings. Faulkner went 8.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. Jorge Félix notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record now sits at 2-10. Westwood bumps their record to 46-55 with the win.
The Sixshooters got a clutch hit from right fielder Valentín Vargas. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Sixshooters.
"To become 'battle-tested,'" said Vargas, "you need to compete in this kind of contest."
