Miners Deal MotorBoaters 6-0 Defeat

The Marquette Miners picked up a win at Heron Field, downing the Lake Murray MotorBoaters, 6-0. On the mound for Marquette was right-hander Trevor Covenay, who played a pivotal role in the win. Covenay yielded no runs over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 3, and struck out 2. His record improves to 1-0. Calvin Soto finished to wrap up his 1st save.
The Miners got a big at-bat from center fielder Jerry Jaramillo. For the game, Jaramillo went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Marquette a 2-0 lead.
Said losing manager David Buchanan: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
The loss drops Lake Murray to 2-2.
