Northville Edges Providence, 1-0, Erkelens Ks 9
|
The Northville Eclipse scored a tight, 1-0 win versus the Providence Pilgrims at Field of Plenty. Northville pitcher Umberto Erkelens held his own in the contest. Don Jackson closed the door for Northville, picking up his 2nd save of the year. Providence is now 1-7.
Erkelens, who dominated for Northville, earned the victory to move to 1-1. He was in control the whole game, scattering 4 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 9. Providence batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
"Umberto was exceptional and he pitched with a purpose," said Northville manager Daniel Katz.
