Pilgrims Claim 3-2 Triumph

The Providence Pilgrims handed the Minnesota Loons a loss at Field of Plenty. The final score was 3-2. Major production was provided by John Gudmestad for Providence. In addition to his 1 single and 1 home run, he scored 1 run and drove in 2. He also added 1 walk. Pedro Duarte, now 1-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. With the loss, Minnesota sinks to 6-3.
Gudmestad contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Providence in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Gudmestad took a fastball from Jesús Delgado and stroked the home run to left. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Pilgrims to leap in front, 2-1.
