The St. Petersburg Thunder went home winners at Baby Thunder Dome, thanks in large part to starter Juan Torres. Torres stifled the Minnesota Loons, enabling St. Petersburg to grab the 5-0 win. St. Petersburg now has a record of 7-4.

Making an impact for the home team was Mario Ornelas. In the bottom of the third, the 27-year old center fielder had a run-scoring walk. That made the score 2-0, Thunder.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said St. Petersburg manager Alejandro Mingo.
