Rocketeers Get Thrilling 3-2 Win
|
The Seattle Rocketeers spoiled a good performance by Hollywood left fielder Miguel Núñez, bumping off Hollywood, 3-2, at The Hollywood Bowl. Núñez was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win was credited to Steven Brown in relief. His record improves to 3-3. Mark Sims took the loss. The Rocketeers saw their record improve to 39-43.
The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Jorge Beguer came to bat in the top of the 12th. Facing Hollywood pitcher Mark Sims, he hit a 1-2 slider for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Seattle on top, 3-2.
"This ballgame left me feeling kind of raw," said Hollywood manager TJ Reynolds.
