Squirrel Hill turned a good effort from starter David White into a win over the Gulf Coast Turbeaus at Mobile Home Park. The final score was 9-1. White, the winner, moves to 1-1. He threw 6.2 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 1 walk. The Pierogis now have a record of 7-15.
Roger Miller hit a 2-run triple off Seppo Seppänen in the top of the first, which put the Pierogis in front, 2-0. Miller had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 4.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," White told the Squirrel Hill Gazette.
