Liberty Academy Lose, 3-2, as Polar Bears Rally

The Philadelphia Liberty Academy could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Jordan Counsell into a win. Instead, the Billings Polar Bears prevailed, 3-2, in 10 innings. Counsell threw 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball. After today's action, Billings sits at 13-11, while Philadelphia falls to 9-15.
Up to bat in the bottom of the tenth, Martín Rodríguez wanted to seize the moment and deliver a clutch hit. Philadelphia pitcher Tanzan Jouda had other ideas. He wanted to end the Billings rally. What happened next? With one out, Rodríguez hit a run-scoring single -- and the Polar Bears erupted in celebration.
