The Barton Springs Blues handed the Minnesota Loons a 5-4 defeat at Blues Field. Center Fielder Clifton Brooks starred for Barton Springs. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs. Barton Springs reliever Curt Pollock picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Quincy Tuffin was tagged with the loss. Aaron Arnold earned the save for Barton Springs, his 5th.

Brooks had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-2 cutter from Quincy Tuffin, he banged a solo home run to right-center, giving the Blues a 5-4 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Brooks.

"We took home the win," said Brooks. "What's not to like?"

Barton Springs is now 11-18. Minnesota is 17-12.
