Martínez Hits Two Dingers, Liberty Academy Win, 9-4
Carlos Martínez made an impact in the 9-4 Philadelphia win over Gwinnett. Martínez, who is tied for 9th in the SAA in home runs with 7, went 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Vicente Torres got credit for the win, improving to 4-0. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits in 6 innings. Tanzan Jouda recorded the save for Philadelphia, his 9th of the season.

Philadelphia took the lead on Martínez's 7th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which came against Randy Pierce in the bottom of the sixth, made the score 5-2, Philadelphia.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Martínez said. "We did a good job of that today."

The Liberty Academy now have a record of 16-18 with the win over Gwinnett.
