Liberty Academy catcher Joe Hughes left his mark on his team's 8-2 win over the Lake Murray MotorBoaters. Hughes, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2058 draft, was 4 for 4 with 4 singles for Philadelphia in the contest. Jacob Harrell recorded the save for Philadelphia, his 2nd of the season. Philadelphia now has a record of 24-23 with the win.
Philadelphia designated hitter Loran Godron contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 40th hit of the season and put the Liberty Academy ahead, 4-2.
Said losing manager David Buchanan: "We had a bad night. It happens."
