The Minnesota Loons overcame a good performance by Billings shortstop Tony Mendoza to knock off Billings, 6-5, at Loony Bin. Mendoza went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2. José Aguilar got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 4 runs on 9 hits in 5.1 innings. Taki Ohayashi closed out the game, earning his 2nd save.

Third Baseman George Tennyson made an impact for Minnesota, when he swatted a run-scoring triple off Chris Barber in the bottom of the fifth. For the contest, Tennyson went 2 for 3 with a triple and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"Winning is contagious," said Tennyson. "We're looking forward to the next game."
