The Minnesota Loons got a superb performance from pitcher Rich Long, but the Ithaca Fighting Imps still won the game, 6-5. Long threw 7.0 innings allowing 1 run. The winner was Ithaca reliever Tom McClendon, now 1-1. The loser was Kun Yi. The 4th-place Loons dropped to 28-24.

The Fighting Imps got a clutch hit from designated hitter Ricardo Pérez. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Fighting Imps.

In postgame comments, Pérez said, "I think we gave the fans their money's worth."
