Starting pitcher Gabriel Soto gave the Philadelphia Liberty Academy a rock-solid effort. The Palencia, Spain native helped his team defeat the Barton Springs Blues, 3-0, at Liberty Academy Field. Tanzan Jouda sewed up the save, his 11th. The Liberty Academy, at 32-31, sit in 4th place in the Silver AA.

The Liberty Academy got an important contribution from left fielder Millard MacKinney, who in the bottom of the fourth hit a 0-2 sinker to right-center for a 2-run double. It was his 4th double of the season and put the Liberty Academy ahead, 3-0.

MacKinney called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
