Liberty Academy Rally For 8-6 Win
The inspired effort of Toledo designated hitter Raúl Marino was not enough to prevent a loss, 8-6, to the Philadelphia Liberty Academy. Marino was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Shawn Casey was the winner in relief. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Tom Womack. Philadelphia goes to 36-33, Toledo to 30-39.

Philadelphia used a timely hit from Millard MacKinney to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Liberty Academy ahead, 8-6. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a difference-maker.

"You can't hate how you win if you win," said Philadelphia skipper Ángelo Corona.
