Liberty Academy Victorious at Squirrel Hill, 7-5
|
Philadelphia and Squirrel Hill duked it out and the Liberty Academy came out victorious.
Philadelphia Liberty Academy starter Chad May pitched a strong game against the Squirrel Hill Pierogis at Field of the Rawhides, leading the Liberty Academy to victory, 7-5. Vicente Torres closed the door for Philadelphia, picking up his 2nd save of the year.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jesse Miller? The Philadelphia left fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Liberty Academy on top, 5-2. For the game, Miller had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I'm proud to wear a Philadelphia jersey," Miller told the Philadelphia Chronicle. "We played a good game and came out with the win. What more can you ask for?"
Philadelphia is now 37-33, while Squirrel Hill is 30-40.
