Liberty Academy Curb Polar Bears, 4-1
|
The Philadelphia Liberty Academy went home winners at The Igloo, thanks in large part to starter Roberto Cerda. Cerda stifled the Billings Polar Bears, enabling Philadelphia to grab the 4-1 win. The last-place Polar Bears have lost 4 consecutive games.
Philadelphia relied on the bat of António García to get the win. The third baseman ripped a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Liberty Academy ahead, 3-0. For the game, García had 1 double and 1 triple in 4 at-bats.
"Roberto -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Liberty Academy manager Ángelo Corona. "He was the key to us winning."
