Liberty Academy Sneak By Polar Bears, 5-4
|
Philadelphia second baseman Truman Reed was instrumental in helping the Liberty Academy triumph, 5-4, over the Billings Polar Bears. Reed went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Philadelphia reliever Jacob Harrell picked up the win, raising his record to 3-0. Fernando Ortega was tagged with the loss. Tanzan Jouda picked up the save, his 15th.
Philadelphia needed the clutch hitting of Vicente González to notch the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Liberty Academy on top, 5-4. For the game, González had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"My job is to go out and play as hard as I can for the Liberty Academy," said González.
The 5th-place Polar Bears have dropped 5 straight games.
