Shredders Win with Late Heroics
The Colorado Billy Goats could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Sloppy Thurston into a win. Instead, the Hollywood Shredders prevailed, 2-1, in 11 innings. Thurston threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Hollywood is 37-52 and Colorado, with the loss, 43-46.

The Shredders relied on left fielder Joe Saunders for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 11th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.

"This place was electric at the end," Saunders said.
