Turbeaus Upend Liberty Academy, 3-2

The Gulf Coast Turbeaus got a marvelous performance from pitcher Artie Jones. The right-hander kept the Philadelphia offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 3-2 Gulf Coast victory at Liberty Academy Field. Gulf Coast improves to 58-33 with the win. They lead their division by 2 games.
Larry Rothrock had a direct impact on the outcome. Rothrock contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Gulf Coast up, 3-0.
"That's how you're going to be successful," said Turbeaus manager Melvin McCullough. "It starts with pitching and it will always be pitching."
