Thunder Hawks Get 6-4 Win Versus Marquette
|
Getting offensive support from Juan Salazar, the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks topped the Marquette Miners, 6-4. Salazar went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Thunder Hawks. Chris Bligh picked up the win with 8 innings of work. He allowed 4 runs on 6 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 8. On the season, he is now 2-2. Luis Rodríguez finished to wrap up his 13th save.
In the first inning, Salazar had a 2-run home run for Ft. Polk South. It was his 12th home run of the season and put the Thunder Hawks on top, 2-0.
"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Salazar told the Ft. Polk South Times.
With the win over Marquette, the Thunder Hawks improved to 44-49.
