Miners Pick Up 3-1 Win Against Squirrel Hill
The bats were silent much of the day at Marquette Stadium. But 22-year old center fielder Aloysius Minch produced just enough offense to carry the Miners past the Squirrel Hill Pierogis, 3-1. Minch went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The Miners improved their record to 53-40 by beating Squirrel Hill.

Minch had a timely hit for Marquette in the bottom of the sixth. With Marquette trailing 1-0, he turned a 2-2 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 14th home run of the season, making it 2-1, Marquette.

"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Minch told the Marquette Herald.
