Liberty Academy Fall Short, 7-6, at Gwinnett
|
The Gwinnett Guinea Pigs did just enough to sneak past the Philadelphia Liberty Academy, 7-6, at Experimental Stadium. Gwinnett left fielder Bryan Rivers, in particular, had a standout performance. Picking up the save was Hyung-oo Cho, his 4th. The victory gives Gwinnett a record of 48-46.
Early in the game, designated hitter Tong-sik Yi had a grand slam home run for Gwinnett. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Guinea Pigs on top, 4-0.
In postgame comments to the Gwinnett Bulletin, Rivers said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
