A good performance from second baseman Charles Petit helped the Northville Eclipse defeat the Asheville Highlanders, 9-8. Petit was 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks for the Eclipse. Asheville now owns a losing streak of 5 games.

Northville used the clutch hitting of Gus Miller to snag the win. The left fielder drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Eclipse ahead, 9-4. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Asheville manager Eduardo Ortega. "But we decided not to take it."
