Loons Lose to Vipers in Walk-Off
|
Victor Lagers, the 10th overall pick in the 2059 draft, had a strong outing for the Vancouver Vipers against the Minnesota Loons at Vipers Ballpark. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 4-3 win. Vancouver reliever Abel Holland picked up the win to move to 2-2. Daniel Shields suffered the loss. The Vipers move to 55-47 with the win, while the Loons drop to 53-49.
The decisive blow was delivered in the bottom of the ninth when Ben Lewis hit a run-scoring double off 24-year old left-handed pitcher Eddy Poole to win the game for Vancouver. The home crowd went wild.
Lagers attributed the win to his team's "steely resolve."
