Piranhas Rally Late to Nip Coeur
|
The MSL Panama City Piranhas faced a tough opponent in MSL St. Louis pitcher Enrique Oliva, but did just enough to pull out the victory at MSL St. Louis Ballpark by a final score of 3-2. Oliva went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs. Denzel Brown got the save, the 1st for him this season. The Piranhas, now 7-2, have played some good baseball in the early going.
MSL Panama City used a clutch hit from Rafael Sardiña to get the win. The center fielder drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Piranhas ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Sardiña said in reaction to the win.
