Cattlemen Done In By Mockingbirds, 4-2

The MSL Memphis Mockingbirds rode a solid performance from 17-year-old starting pitcher Pedro Pineda to a win, beating the MSL Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 4-2, at MSL Ft. Worth Ballpark. Pineda picked up the win for MSL Memphis, going 5.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 3-2. Matthew Hardcastle wrapped it up, recording his 9th save.
Manuel Batista helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he hit a 2-2 fastball from Treasaigh Gaitskell for a bases-clearing triple, to give MSL Memphis a 3-0 lead.
"You have to trust that what you're doing is going to produce results," said Pineda.
With the win, MSL Memphis upped its record to 18-12.
