Piranhas Handle Kingfishers, Grab 7-1 Win

The MSL Panama City Piranhas topped the MSL Pittsburgh Kingfishers, 7-1, in USSL Mexican Summer League action at MSL Pittsburgh Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to MSL Panama City pitcher and Bergen op Zoom, The Netherlands, native Cesar Liefting. In 5.2 innings, Liefting surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. MSL Panama City goes to 32-16, MSL Pittsburgh to 20-28.
MSL Panama City center fielder Rafael Sardiña staked his team to an early lead in the top of the second inning, when he hit a sacrifice fly with the bases loaded.
"I thought we played a nice game," Liefting told the MSL Panama City Bulletin. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
