Harvey Thomas was vital to the Northern Virginia win. He went 1 for 4. In the top of the sixth with two out, Thomas hit a run-scoring single. It made the score 2-0, in favor of the Rainbow Mermaids.

Northern Virginia manager David Lister was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard, they played all the way through," he said.
