The Detroit Elite stopped the Vancouver Grey Wolves, 4-2, at Wolf Den in Vancouver. The Elite got a big game from Dan Wells, who threw 6.2 innings allowing 1 run. José Martínez, credited with the save, is now 10 for 11 in save opportunities. With the win, Detroit has a record of 46-63. Vancouver falls to 46-64.
Detroit used a clutch at-bat from Mike McKinney to capture the win. The shortstop hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Elite ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
Detroit manager Dustin Hewitt commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
