The Seattle Rocketeers moved to within one game of the Tournament of Champions, downing the visiting Boston Patriots at Boeing Dome by a score of 6-1. Rocketeers right-hander Bruce Hawkins had a strong outing in which he threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the Rocketeers a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 ToC Semi-Finals.

Juan Rivera, who finished 4th in the PL in on-base percentage with .379 last year, contributed to the Seattle win with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.

Rivera called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."

Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday at Dunkin Donuts Park in Boston.
